Laurella Elva Vieau passed away on Monday, December 29th, 2014 at Cottagewood Memory Care Home at the age of 97 years.
She was born on December 15, 1917 the daughter of Alfred and Daisy (Jewett) Swanson in Marysville Township, rural Waverly.
Laurella was united in marriage to Harvey Vieau on June 19, 1941. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1982.
She went to school in a one room school house in Marysville Township until the 8th grade. She had to quit school and help at home with her sisters and brothers as her mother died at a young age.
Laurella worked at Wonderalls Sewing Factory and The Veneer Factory both in Buffalo, Scharpers in Minneapolis and Pako in Delano.
She loved to sew, bake, go to the casino, spend time with her family, friends and go to Red’s Café for a meal.
Laurella was a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Buffalo.
Survived by her brothers: Kenneth, Harold & LeRoy (Selma) Swanson; a sister-in-law: Lenora Swanson; nephews and nieces.
In addition to her husband, Laurella was preceded in death by her sisters Grace Erickson, Doris Stumpf and Ruby Stumpf, sisters-in-law: Dorothy and Lois Swanson, brothers Vernie, Alvin and Marvin Swanson and brothers-in-law: Alfred Stumpf, Leonard Erickson and Francis Stumpf.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Laurella Vieau will be held on Tuesday, January 13th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Buffalo.
Gift Bearers will be Joan Rask and Elaine Marquette.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, January 13th one hour prior to Mass at the church.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Gerold Erickson and Merlin Swanson.
Casket Bearers will be John Swanson, Randy Swanson, Bryan Christensen, Neil Christensen, Dennis Vieau and Shawna Huss.
