Visitation Information

L. Jim Williams Jr., age 68 of Albertville, died Thursday, May 14, 2009 at his home.

L. James was born on March 30, 1941 in Rochester to Lester James and Grace (nee Dormady) Williams Sr. A Class of ’59 graduate of North Minneapolis High School, Jim served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. On August 25, 1964 he married Ruth Ann Keske in Minneapolis. He attended Dunwoody Institute to learn the sheet metal trade and worked as a tin bender for many years. A member of SMFW Local#10, Jim served as a board member for the Credit Union. He enjoyed being with his grandkids.

Jim is survived by, wife, Ruth Ann Keske Williams, children: Jimmy (Dana) Williams, Becker, Darrin Williams, Crystal, and Kelli (Dan) Meyer, New Hope; siblings: Robert Williams, CA, Kay (Jim) Anderson, Minneapolis, Nona Dorholt, TX; grandkids: Kourtney, Payton & Lexi Williams, Gabrielle & Isabelle Williams, and Elli, Noah, & Olivia Meyer; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

There is one hour of visitation (10 – 11 AM) on Tuesday, May 19th at The Peterson Chapel St Michael/Albertville Funeral Home then a procession to Fort Snelling National Cemetery, assembly 5 at 12:45 PM.

*Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

    We are so sorry to hear about Jim, from our family to yours, please accept our most sincere condolences. I will never forget summers at the Williams household, begging Jim to go swimming and getting yelled at every time we went near his Pepsi 🙂 Not to mention all the years he picked us up at Skateland in the brown van.
