Kevin worked for ERC/Egan Electric for many years and was a proud member of IBEW 292. He enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, hunting, trapshooting, snowmobiling, sports, hockey – watching the Minnesota Wild, and playing with his dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Julie; daughter, Kimberly Ackerman (fiancé, Bryan Warling); sister-in-law, Jeanette Winters; nieces, Heather and son, Max, Winters and Holly Nelson; cousin Bryan (Jodi) LaPointe; and many other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Garfield and Marie; brother, Craig Winters; and aunt, Leona (John) LaPointe.
Visitation Friday, January 16, 5 – 8 PM with a time of sharing at 7:30 PM at the Peterson Chapel of Buffalo, 119 Central Avenue.
Casket bearers will be Jamie Turk, Mitch Klein, Bruce Adicks, Mark Pany, Mark Klein, and Bryan LaPointe.
The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo assisted the family with arrangements.
Kevin was a long time friend and client.
But what I remember most was a golf round just a few years ago. Neither of us are very good golfers, but Kevin was a competitor. He hated to hit a bad shot or lose at golf. I admired that in him.
Kevin will be missed.
I met Kevin up at our cabin. He was just a great all around guy. My 1st time shooting a gun was with Kevin & Julie. My 1st time tubing, Kevin pulled me like a maniac, I never tubed again, but he sure thought it was funny! When ever I heard a four wheeler, I was hoping it would be Kevin & the dogs coming over to visit. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to Julie & Kimmy
I’m so sorry for your loss and my thoughts are with you all. Sincerely, Gail
I’m sorry to hear about your loss, Julie and Kimmy. I will keep you guys in my prayers. We are going thru the same thing with some friends of ours, their nephew has that awful disease. Take care.
