Ken was born on August 24, 1941 to Just & Dora (Reelfs) Christensen in Hartington, Nebraska. He served his country in the US Navy on the USS Ranger aircraft carrier as a radar repeater from June of 1958 to August of 1961. Ken’s love for coffee showed during his service time where he was known for his delicious coffee. He married Sandra Erickson on May 16, 1964 at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MN. Following their marriage Ken worked for General Telephone, working in Texas, Wisconsin & Nebraska. After they settled in Minnesota, Ken began working for Honeywell as an electronic technician for 38 years. He retired in April of 2003. After retirement he enjoyed riding his bicycle, which he received as a gift from his family, around Medicine Lake. Ken was an outdoorsman through & through. He enjoyed hunting & fishing with his son’s especially goose hunting in Rochester and Carl E. Kramer WMA in Welcome, MN. He also enjoyed fishing with his family on the Vermillion River. He enjoyed watching his children in their sporting events during their school years & began watching his grandchildren as well. Ken & Sandra truly enjoyed watching the birds outside their home on Medicine Lake. He was very proud of his children & his grandchildren. Ken passed away as a result of a stroke he suffered while playing blackjack, a game he started playing after his retirement.
