Kenneth D. Brown, age 84 of Hanover, formerly Maple Grove, passed away 10/28/18.He was born on February 19, 1934 in Hopkins, MN to Lloyd and Rose (Havelka) Brown. He attended high school in Wayzata, and graduated with the class of 1952. Ken met his future wife, Joanne Wicklund, on a blind date, and the two were joined in Holy Marriage on August 4, 1962 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Together they raised two sons.
Ken worked for International Paper, and after 28 years of service with them, he continued in the printing industry until he retired. He also grew and sold vegetables at Brown’s Farmer’s Market. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time at the cabin, which included many hours of fishing on the dock with his boys and grandchildren. He also was a craftsman, and created a variety of woodworking projects. He mainly cherished his time spent with his grandchildren, sharing his witty, sharp sense of humor and loved joking around with them. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Brown; sons, Timothy (Mary) Brown and Richard (Mary) Brown; grandchildren, Nicole (Terry) Kalk, Tim Brown Jr., Nathan Brown, Heather (Kyle) Brown-Winkleman, Krystle Brown, Zachary Brown, and Jacob Brown; great-granddaughter, Lillyan Kalk; two sisters, Deloris Filip and Marcella Mueller; several nieces, nephews, and friends; and special animal friend, Max.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 11/1/18, from 4-7 PM with prayer service at 6:30 PM at The Peterson Chapel, 300 Main St. N., St. Michael, MN. Memorial Service will be held Friday, 11/2/18, at 4 PM with visitation one hour prior at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 7401 County Rd 101, Maple Grove, MN.

Ken will be deeply missed. I enjoyed taking care of him. The last two months I took care of him he definitely had such sweet and caring charm. I will miss his smile, his winks and him joking around.
