She began her journey in Hoffman High School, graduating in 1961, and it was during this time that she met the love of her life, Kenneth Elrite. On February 2, 1963, Joyce and Kenneth exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Joyce had a green thumb and a deep love for gardening. Her flower gardens were a sight to behold, bursting with vibrant colors and fragrant blooms. Her vegetable gardens provided her family with bountiful harvests, and she took great pride in the fruits of her labor.

Joyce’s warmth and hospitality were second to none. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and cherished. Her culinary skills shone, particularly during the holidays, with Thanksgiving being a favorite occasion for her to showcase her talent in the kitchen. Among her culinary specialties, Joyce was renowned for her choke cherry jam and delectable banana bread, which were enjoyed by all lucky enough to taste them.

While Joyce had a deep love for her entire family, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren above all else. She embraced every moment with them, creating cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
