Joe was born in a stone house in Bowman, ND to Joseph B. and Ellen Domagala. He spent his first 16 years in Bowman then moved with his family to Clam Falls, WI where he graduated from Frederic High School. He went on to attend Coyne Institute in Chicago where he studied electronics. His schooling was interrupted by a call to the military. He served in the Army from 1950 – 1953. He was deployed to Korea and joined the KMAG Unit and was assigned to be the signal advisor to the Korean Army. Joe was in charge of communications and inherited the nickname “Domo from Como”.
In September 1953 he returned to Coyne and graduated with a major in electronics. On June 10th, 1956 Joe married his high school sweetheart, Hila Jeffery. They were married for 65 years. Joe went on to work for several computer companies. With his background in the Army, he had the highest level of government security clearance. He traveled extensively installing computers at the Pentagon, Bay of Ships and White Sands Proving Ground.
Joe and Hila called Plymouth, MN home for 54 years where they raised 3 wonderful children; Ann, Jeffery and Leah. Joe was very active in the church and community matters. He served as a Scoutmaster, a coach of little league teams, loved all kinds of sports, an avid golfer, even though he always admitted he was still learning each of them himself. Joe wanted to make sure that everyone knows how proud he is of his children and their accomplishments.
Joe was involved in many businesses over his career; the Ballroom, a landscape company, transmission shop, a distributorship and a beer garden at the Fair to name a few. Some were a second job while he was working in electronics. Eventually Joe retired in 2000 and he and Hila were able to spend winters in McAllen, TX. Joe’s true passion was hunting and fishing. He had many great adventures over the years with his children and grandchildren. He was still hunting deer and turkey at the age of 90.

Survived by his wife, Hila Domagala, children; Ann Domagala (Don Myren), Jeffery Domagala (Rhonda) and Leah Roe (Gary).
Grandchildren; Chelsea Walton (Nathan), Hogan Domagala, Stephanie Payne (Barry) and Alissa Wiswell.
Great grandchildren; Tanner, Natalie, Natalia, Aubrie, Emma, Ruby, Finnley, Nolivia, Bradley and Nathan Jr.
Memorial Service at 1:00 PM on September 9, 2021 at Messiah Methodist Church, 17805 County Road 6, Plymouth, MN 55447 with visitation one hour prior.
Interment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, 15550 Hwy 115, Little Falls, MN 56345
