John William Christensen, age 58 of Buffalo, passed away on May 13, 2024 at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo, MN.

John was born on January 8, 1966 in Britt, IA, the son of William & Avis (Finley) Christensen.  He was baptized at Burt Presbyterian Church in Burt, IA.  John attended and graduated from Burt High School and then furthered his education receiving a communication degree from Buena Vista University.

John worked as a butcher for many years and most currently worked point of sales for J & B Meats for the past 22 years.

John had a great love for baseball.  He enjoyed watching the MN Twins and coached his son’s baseball team for many years.  John also loved to play games.  He especially loved playing card games, playing cribbage with his dad being one of his favorites.

John is preceded in death by his father, William Christensen

He is survived by his significant other, Barb Vetsch of Buffalo, MN; son, Tyler (Lindsey) Grant of Montrose, MN; mother, Avis Christensen of Algona, IA; siblings, Deb (Chris)Siegel of Grimes, IA, Jeff (Lisa) Christensen of Hutchinson, MN, Janet (John) Beavers of Alexandria, MN and Donna (Kevin) Larson of Canby, MN; grandchildren, Lara and Tatum Grant; mother of Tyler, Tina Grant-Springbrum; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial service for John will be held Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael, MN.

.Private family interment to be held at a later date.
