John Melvin Johnson, age 85, of Buffalo died Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Buffalo Hospital. He was born in Swift Falls, MN on March 27, 1932 the son of John P. and Lillien (Anderson) Johnson. John honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On July 6, 1957, John M. Johnson and Mary Lou Secora were joined in holy marriage at the Church of St. Mary in Waverly, MN. God blessed their marriage with three sons. He was formerly employed for many years at Mammoth Industries.

John enjoyed going to country music shows and was a fan of Johnny Cash. He also was fond of riding a bicycle and old cars.

Survived by his loving wife of sixty years Mary Lou; sons: James Allen (Christine) Johnson of Delano, Steven Anthony Johnson of Eden Prairie, Kevin Joseph Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Blake Anthony (Jessie Wu) Johnson and Matthew Steven Johnson; great-grandchild: Raynor Wu Johnson; siblings: Dolly Secora, Lloyd (Orle) Johnson, Roger (Donna) Johnson, Janice (Joe) Kieser, Joni (Herman) Epple, Evelyn Rassatt and Kenneth Johnson; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents John and Lillie Johnson.

Funeral service for John M. Johnson will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Buffalo United Methodist Church. Visitation will be on Friday, November 10th two hours prior to services at the church.

Honorary casket bearers will be Blake, Matthew and Terry Johnson, Shelley Bergman, John Morrison and Sherry Elsen. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, MN assisted the family with arrangements.
