John Marshall Hall, age 84 of Corcoran, passed away on March 21, 2019.

He was born on January 18, 1935 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin to Marshall and Dorothy (Woznick) Hall. He grew up in Ashland, Wisconsin and graduated from De Padua High School in 1953. After high school, he briefly attended St. Thomas University and then transferred to Northland College to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 1957.

During his time in college, he met Lorelei Philpott, and the two were united in marriage on February 22, 1957. Together they raised four children.

John enlisted in the Navy, with the hopes of becoming a pilot. Due to motion sickness, he was not able to fulfill that dream. He still proudly served his country, and was honorably discharged on February 28, 1961.

After his service in the military, he started his chemistry career with Pillsbury, eventually working for General Mills, which he retired from in 1992. Prior to his retirement, John and his youngest son Jeff founded Reliable Medical Supply in 1989. John remained a constant mentor and advisor over the next 30 years.

In his retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, reading books; especially about World War II history, going to the family cabin on Little Round Lake, and making special memories with his children and grandchildren. He was known for his sense of humor and having a Blue Moon beer or two while conversing with friends. Even though he lived in Minnesota majority of his life, he stayed true to his Wisconsin roots and cheered for his favorite sports teams; the Packers and Badgers.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Dorothy; brother, James; and grandsons, Chad and Ryan Hall.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lorelei; children, William, Debra (Russ) Kalk, David (Rebecca), and Jeff (Kristin); 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jeffrey, Ginger (Dick) Gussert, Rosemary, and Thomas (Colleen).

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Ry’s Hope Foundation: PO Box 128, Buffalo MN 55313 (www.ryshope.com). This special foundation was created in memory of John’s grandson, Ryan Hall.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior at St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, MN.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to The Peterson Chapel of St. Michael-Albertville. Online condolences for the family may be directed to www.thepetersonchapel.com.

As we travel through life we meet many different people. Typically there are a just a few that truly touch your heart. As a couple both John and Lori have been two of the most gracious people that Jeff and I have had the pleasure of spend time with. John will be thought of often.
