September 22, 1964 – September 24, 2023

John Leslie Kohanek, age 59, of Hanover.   Born September 22, 1964 in Robbinsdale the son of Leslie W. & Patricia M. (Krier) Kohanek.  Employed for many years as a truck driver, most recently for Cargill.  John was a huge hearted person, who was a free spirit with a good sense of humor.   He enjoyed car shows, flying airplanes, Las Vegas, porkchops, tacos and the lake house.   John was a former volunteer of The Hanover Fire Department.   Survived by his loving companion: Tina Jesinski; children: Joe (Tonya) Kohanek and grandchildren Clara & Jason; Amanda (Luke) Baldwin and grandchildren Brody, Ivan and Leo; Justin (Abby) Gertken and grandson Riley; Zach and (Steph) Gramstad and grandchild Eli; sisters: Annette (Scott), Shelly and Denise (Tim); nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.   Preceded in death by his parents.   A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 7th, 2023 beginning at 12 Noon at his lake home in Alexandria.

    Shelly and family. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. He has joined you mom and dad in heaven. He is too young but God has his plans. I have learned to not cry because it’s over but to rejoice because it was.
