Visitation Information

John G. Bensfield, age 58, of Toronto, South Dakota and formerly of Mitchell, South Dakota. Longtime cabinet maker for Environments, Inc. Loving man with a heart of gold. Enjoyed dancing, biking and spending endless hours doing puzzles with his granddaughters. Survived by daughters: Jody (Chad) Dye of Albertville & Carrie (Steve) Marandola of Lakeville; granddaughters: Shajhlome, Angel and Faith; brother: David (Sherri) Bensfield; special friend Marjean Mathis; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents: Gilbert & Angeline and brother: Dan. Funeral service at St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 11th at 4:00 P.M. A visitation will be held on Wednesday two hours prior to services.

    Dear Jody and Carrie and families,

    What a shock to see John’s obituary; I am truly sorry for your loss. He was indeed a most gentle soul and I was privileged not only to know him at St. Anne’s but to have him visit me at St. James when he was in town. Always a kind word and a smile. He will be missed.

    we are so sorry for your loss,Our neighborhood wont be the same,He was a great neighbor and friend,He wound some over and snow blow Moms back yard for Her and her kitties,and come over for a homemade sugar cookie,making cookies will never have the same fun in making them.Mom realy got worried when his pickup didnt move or seen him in the yard ,he was like one of kids and she would worrie about him too,You had one Great Dad.And we are happy we got to know him and call him a friend,So if you need any help on this end just call us,we are helping Phil watch the house.We will keep you in our prayers God Bless Your whole family.Arlene Thompson family.Deb,Rollie,Ronda and her girls.Toronto SD 605-794-2761

    So sorry to hear of John’s passing. I worked with him at Red Owl from 1974 to the early 1080″s. Really enjoyed him and we worked closely on all Christmas party”s along with the coffee club .Again my sincere sympathy
