John F. Staskivige, age 90, of rural Buffalo passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014 at The VA Medical Center in St. Cloud.
He was born on March 3, 1924 in Drayton, North Dakota the son of Frank & Violet Misialek Staskivige.
On July 3rd, 1947, John F. Staskivige and DeVonna J. Tverberg were joined in marriage in Grafton, North Dakota. God blessed their marriage with five children.
John was the former owner of The Red Vest in Rockford.
Survived by children: Loyal (Nola) Staskivige, Kevin Staskivige Sr., Melody Ann and Walter Staskivige; daughter-in-law: Linda Staskivige; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a sister: Bernice Piehowski; other relatives and and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife: DeVonna Staskivige, a son: Clayton Staskivige, his parents: Frank & Violet Staskivige and by siblings: Mary, Joey, Jean, Effie, Florence and Walter.
Memorial Prayer Service for John Staskivige will be held on Tuesday, March 25th from 3:00- 4:00 P.M. The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
Spring Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25th from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
Honorary Urn Bearers will be his grandchildren: Jeff Vergin, Cory Scholl, Kevin Staskivige Jr., John Blaine Staskivige, Carrie Staskivige and Lisa Fisher.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of John. He will be missed dearly. He always made me laugh with his great sense of humor.
Dad, we will miss you so much. It was time to go see Mom and Clayton. I just want you to know that I love you so much and my sons and grandkids. Please say hello to Mom and Clayton and we will all be together again some day.
I love you great grandpa. You were always the best, loving, funniest and goofiest and you taught me how to wink. Brenna and I will miss you a lot. Say hi to great grandma and Clayton for us. We love you and miss you.
