Joel Robert Bechtold, age 61 of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2017. He was born March 14, 1956 in Buffalo, MN, the son of Eugene and Marcella (Lucier) Bechtold.
Joel was a 1974 graduate of St. Michael-Albertville High School. He worked 30 plus years as a Machinist with Tennant Company formerly in Osseo, MN (now Golden Valley).
Joel was a member and founder of the Crow River Lions Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, boating, and spending time with his family and friends wherever they could laugh and have fun.
He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Bechtold; and step-father, Clifford Daleiden.
Joel is survived by his daughter, Krysti (Garrett) Griffith; son, Michael Bechtold; mother, Marcella Daleiden; grandchildren, Rylan and Brynn; fiancée, Debbie Schirmers; brothers, Craig (Mary Lee) Bechtold, Duane Bechtold; step-siblings, Jill Daleiden, Jeff (Kerin) Daleiden, Mary Jo (Ron) Schmid, Patty Pouliot; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with 7:00 PM prayer service, at The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, MN. Interment will follow at the Hanover Village Cemetery in Hanover, MN.
