Joanne Mary Pettit, age 87 of Pequot Lakes, formerly of Corcoran, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019. She was born in Minneapolis on December 4, 1931, the daughter of Charles and Mary “Mamie” (Keran) Patnode.

On September 8, 1951, Joanne Patnode and Jerry Pettit were joined in holy marriage at the Church of St. Thomas in Corcoran. The two were blessed with 9 children.

Preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Pettit; son, David Pettit; son-in-law, Richard Harris; grandson, Shawn Sibbet; parents, Charles and Mary “Mamie” Patnode; and 6 brothers and sisters.

Joanne is survived by her children, Gerri Kay (Randy) Baumeister of McAllen, TX, Marianne (Ken) Kraft of Rockford, Shelly Aeshliman of St. Michael, Becky (Terry) Pauly of St. Michael, Rod (Sandy) Pettit of Buffalo, Jennifer (Rick) Altendorf of Loretto, Kelly Harris of Conroe, TX, Tony (Nancy) Pettit of Pequot Lakes; grandchildren, Brianne (Mark), Cassie (Josh), Nathan (Janae), Jeremy, Mick, Nicole, Amber (Travis), Jed, Shelly (Jason), Shereen (Jerry), Jenny (Jake), John, Nathan (Trina), Zak, Matt (Jessica), Dave (Mary), Marshall (Lindsey), Jake (Brittany), Kayla (Garett), Josh, Maddie; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Ian, Levi, Noah, Aubrey, Cohen, Hannah, Ella, Dallas, Chloe, Braxton, Ashlyn, Teagan, Griffin, Jaylen, Carter, Camryn, Nick, Alyssa, Kaya, Vada, Charlie, Hannah, Lillian, Olivia, Oakland, Eli, Rosie, Brody, Sophie, and two on the way; and many other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Corcoran. Burial at a later date at St. Jeanne de Chantel Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Joanne’s name to the donor’s choice of charity.

    Gerri Kay, Marianne, Shelly ( classmate back when ) and Becky I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mom! She was a nice lady for sure. Sorry i do not remember your younger siblings so much. I had heard mom was living somewhere north of Brainerd. Debbie & i live NE of Brained in Deerwood, not far away. Treasure your memories!
