Jesus Alejandro Serrato Salazar, age 47 of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away February 24, 2021.

He was born on June 19, 1973 in Zitacuaro, Michoacán, Mexico to Alejandro and Margarita. He spent his childhood and young adult life living in Mexico. He met and married his first wife Irais and had a daughter, Alejandra. After the unexpected death of his wife he moved to the United States in 1997.

While living in Minnesota, he worked various jobs, one of those being a chef. Cooking was his passion, and he loved to create and try new recipes. He was wonderful at grilling and especially liked hosting dinner parties for his friends and family to enjoy the delicious meals he’d make for them. While working at a restaurant called Uno’s he met Dhea, his now former second wife. They married in Mexico. He gained three step-sons that he loved as if they were his own.

After leaving the food industry, he founded his own company where he was a general contractor doing various jobs for customer’s homes and yards. He was a talented handyman, and could fix or build just about anything. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry as not only a job, but as a hobby.

Jesus was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved spending time on the lakes either fishing or canoeing with his family. They’d take trips up the North Shore to camp and enjoy everything nature had to offer. He was an avid hunter as well. Jesus was talented at playing guitar, ukulele, and liked to sing. His outgoing personality and fun sense of humor will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He took pride in caring for them and making sure all of their needs were met. He had a kind, giving, and genuine heart.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Irais Rosas Perez; brother, David Serrato Salazar.

Jesus is survived by his daughter, Alejandra Serrato Rosas (Joe Foss); step-sons, Philip, Andrew, and Luke Spriggs; parents, Alejandro Serrato Carmona and Margarita Salazar Juarez; brother, Sergio Serrato Salazar; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN.

Nació el 19 de junio de 1973 en Zitacuaro, Michoacán, México de Alejandro y Margarita. Pasó su infancia y su juventud viviendo en México. Conoció y se casó con su primera esposa Irais y tuvo una hija, Alejandra. Después de la inesperada muerte de su esposa se mudó a los Estados Unidos en 1997.

Mientras vivía en Minnesota, tuvo varios trabajos, uno de los cuales fue chef. Cocinar era su pasión y le encantaba crear y probar nuevas recetas. Era maravilloso asar a la parrilla y le gustaba especialmente organizar cenas para que sus amigos y familiares disfrutaran de las deliciosas comidas que él preparaba para ellos. Mientras trabajaba en un restaurante llamado Uno’s, conoció a Dhea, su ahora ex segunda esposa. Se casaron en México. Consiguió tres hijastros que amaba como si fueran suyos.

Después de dejar la industria alimentaria, fundó su propia empresa en la que era contratista general y realizaba varios trabajos para las casas y los patios de los clientes. Era un manitas talentoso y podía arreglar o construir casi cualquier cosa. Disfrutaba de la carpintería y la carpintería no solo como un trabajo, sino como un pasatiempo.

Jesús era un ávido amante de la naturaleza y le encantaba especialmente pasar tiempo en los lagos, ya sea pescando o navegando en canoa con su familia. Hacían viajes por North Shore para acampar y disfrutar de todo lo que la naturaleza tenía para ofrecer. También era un ávido cazador. Jesús tenía talento para tocar la guitarra, el ukelele y le gustaba cantar. Sus amigos y familiares extrañarán enormemente su personalidad extrovertida y su divertido sentido del humor. Se enorgullecía de cuidarlos y de asegurarse de que todas sus necesidades fueran satisfechas. Tenía un corazón bondadoso, generoso y genuino.

Le antecede en muerte su primera esposa, Irais Rosas Pérez; hermano, David Serrato Salazar.

A Jesús le sobreviven su hija, Alejandra Serrato Rosas (Joe Foss); hijastros, Philip, Andrew y Luke Spriggs; padres, Alejandro Serrato Carmona y Margarita Salazar Juárez; hermano, Sergio Serrato Salazar; y muchos otros familiares y amigos.

El funeral se llevará a cabo el domingo 28 de febrero de 2021 a las 2:00 p. M. Y las visitas comenzarán a las 12:00 p. M. En The Peterson Chapel en Buffalo, MN.
