It is with a heavy heart, we lost our husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle and friend on April 4, 2024 to Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia.

Jerome honorably served his county in the United States Army Reserve from 1956 to 1963.

He worked twenty-seven years at Delano Granite and then seventeen years at Universal Circuit, retiring in 2001, he then worked for Casey’s making Pizzas.  Jerome enjoyed talking to the customers, always predicting the weather or sports. He loved old country music, polka music, Twins baseball, the Minnesota Vikings and WWE Wrestling.

Jerome loved going to his camper up north at Breezy Point. He enjoyed spending time with his boys, cutting wood, deer hunting, just getting together with family, friends, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years “Midge “(Nee Schumacher)”; sons: Scott (Chris), Jeff (Dix); grandchildren: Nick and Jamie, Andrea, Matt, Ryan and Sadey, Carli and Tom; great grandchildren: Christopher, Sam, and Morgan, Logan, Allie and Liam; further survived by his brothers and a sister: John (Carol) Niesen, Joe (Rosemary) Niesen; Sophie (Leonard) Stoppelman, Jerry (Margie) Niesen, Fred Kiphuth, many nephews and nieces, other loving relatives and friends.

Jerome was preceded in death by his infant daughter: Laurie Ann; his parents: Christ and Sophia; step-mother: Laura Niesen; his brothers: James, Jacob and Randy; sisters-in-law: Marge and Margaret; brothers-in-law: Roland Schumacher and Burley Stevens, God child: Christopher Niesen and sister-in-law: Geraldine Schumacher

Rest in peace Uncle Jerome. You will always be remembered as the uncle who loved to play with the nieces and nephews, often carrying us around on your shoulders during our visits at Grandma K’s.

So terribly sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Jerome. I worked with him at Casey’s in Albertville for a couple years. He was always great to be around and always had a smart comment about the weather or a storm rolling in. I would holler back to him, “hey Jerome, we have some thunderboomers rolling in, and he would come up and watch them when he had a free moment.
