How unexpected and heartbreaking! Although we all drifted apart over the decades, Jerome and the rest of my Emond and Blaido cousins were such an important part of my childhood that he will always be in my heart. We cousins were together a lot at all of the family functions, and just thinking of that brings a lot of fun memories to mind. Grandpa’s cabin where we all went on summer adventures by the lake, the woods, the cow fields and the dirt road, plus walking to the pump with buckets, “helping” with the Christmas cookies at Grandma’s (okay, being chased out of the kitchen for swiping said cookies is the truer memory!), and the myriad of holidays, barbeques, our moms swapping babysitting all of us…we were all together a LOT! The everpresent kids’ table where we hated being because we wanted so badly to be at the adults’ table (be careful what you wish for…!) I don’t know why exactly, but Jerome always looked like Linus from Peanuts to me! Jerry George and all my other cousins really made my childhood special, fun, goofy, and memorable, and I never thought to thank him, or the rest of you, for that. Thank you, Cuz, and thank you to my other cousins, and I hope your childhood memories are as sweetly nostalgic as my own. Can’t wait to meet you at the kids table again.

Jerome has been our neighbor for many years. He was always friendly, and genuine whenever we saw him. We will certainly miss bumping into him for a chat. We’re sending loving thoughts and prayers to Jesse, and all of the family. You let us know if you need anything at all Jesse. 202 is always a door you can knock on.

To Jerome’s Family and Friends, I am deeply saddened by your loss! Much too early, but know that our Lord needed a competent submariner to take on some of his most difficult tasks, and Jerome was His choice! Clearly!!! We, in the Wichita JROTC & Leadership Corps, have Jerome and you in our thoughts and prayers. May God grant His continued blessings!!! Sincerely and Respectfully, Bob Kennedy, LtCol, USA Retired
