Jarold A. “Jerry” Burke, age 72, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018.
He was born in Pierre, South Dakota on August 31, 1946 the son of Andrew & Irene (Heinz) Burke.
Jerry honorably served his Country in The United States Army.
On August 28, 1965 Jarold A. “Jerry” Burke and Elizabeth J. “Betty” Bachman were joined in holy marriage at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Bowdle, South Dakota. God blessed their marriage with a daughter and son.
Jerry was formerly employed as a Regional Manager for Super Valu.
He was fond of camping, traveling in his R.V., spending time with his family and storytelling. He also enjoyed Texas and was a very hard worker!
Survived by his loving wife: Betty Burke; a daughter: Dawn (Tom) Engels of Maple Grove and by a son: Darren (Amy) Burke of St. Michael; grandchildren: T.J. and Ashley Engels, Andrew and Connor Burke; brothers: Jim (Mary Jo) Burke of Rapid City and David Burke of Vancouver, Washington; other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jarold “Jerry” Burke will be held on Monday, June 4th at 11:00 A.M. at The St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 4th AT THE CHURCH two hours prior to Mass.
Casket Bearers will be Tom and T.J. Engels, David Burke, Jason, Justin and Jeremy Bachman.

I always enjoyed the time we all had together at the farm. Uncle Jerry was such a kind, gentle soul. I fondly thought of him as my first encounter with a real gentleman.
My wish for all of you is that the memories that bring joy to your hearts will get you through this difficult time.
I would love to be there to celebrate his life with you on Monday but I can’t get away from work for the travel time. I know in my heart that my dad was one of the first people to greet Uncle Jerry at Heaven’s gates. Sending you all my love.

Sorry to hear about Jerry, worked Jerry at SV for 35 yrs. Had many good conversations. Susan and I had planned on coming to TX next winter to visit as we didn’t make it on our first attempt. Will surely miss his humor.
