Janet Lenore (Mattson) Endres, age 78 of Buffalo, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 10:15 P.M. after a year long battle with cancer. She was born in Chatham Township, Wright County, MN to Gilbert and Lenora (Bolduc) Mattson on August 29, 1938.

Janet was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo by Pastor C.A. Callerstrom on November 27, 1938. She was confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church on September 14, 1952 and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1955.

On July 14, 1962, Janet L. Mattson and Lawrence J. Endres were united in marriage at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. They were blessed with three children.

Janet was a long-time employee of the Wright County Journal Press in Buffalo and a member of the Buffalo American Legion Auxiliary for 60 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, cats and dogs, bowling, reading, crocheting and casinos.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Lenora Mattson; brothers, Walter, Arthur, Fred, Henry and infant brother, Donald; sister, Marjorie; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Mattson and Corrinne Mattson; nephew, Gary Mattson; and niece, Karen Grife.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Endres; daughters, Jana Endres of Buffalo, Jean (Jim) Adcock of Big Rock, TN; son, John Endres of Buffalo; grandchildren, James and Jessica Adcock of Big Rock, TN; extended family, Christopher Vassar of Buffalo, Tiffany and Taylor Vassar of Buffalo, Angie Lemarr of LaGrange, IN, Paul Vassar of Breckenridge, MN; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

We would like to thank all of the nurses and staff of Guardian Angels Elim Home Care and Hospice for their care and support during this time.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., with visitation one hour prior, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo with Father Nathaniel Meyers as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Buffalo.
