Janet Lee “Jan” Baker, age 71, of Dayton, MN passed away on April 27, 2023.

She was born on May 19, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of Gordon and Vernetta Zimmerman.  Janet was baptized in June 10, 1951.  She was instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith at Salem Lutheran Church on April 11, 1965.

Jan graduated from Buffalo High School in 1969.  On April 26, 1975 Janet Zimmerman and Dennis Baker were united in marriage at Salem Lutheran Church.  God blessed their marriage with two children, Kristi and Shane.

Janet was a lifelong, faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed traveling, gardening, baking and spending time with family and friends.

Survived by her loving husband, Dennis Baker; children Kristi (Steve) Wenzel and Shane (Jill) Baker; grandchildren Alyssa, Wyatt and Luke; siblings Randy (Cindy) Zimmerman, Thomas W. Zimmerman, Tim Zimmerman and Sheri (Doug) McCallum.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Janet will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Salem Lutheran Church in Greenfield.  Pastor Paul Schuler will officiate.  Interment will follow at Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will take place two hours prior to the funeral service at the church

The Peterson Chapel, St. Michael/Albertville Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
