James “Jim” Herman Vergin, age 78, of Buffalo passed away on Thursday, August 5th, 2010 at his residence.

He was born on July 22, 1932 in Rockford Township, Wright County the son of Albert & Esther Guedes Vergin.

Jim honorably served his Country in The United States Army.

On October 14, 1952, James “Jim” Vergin & Dorothy Jane McIntyre were joined in holy marriage. God blessed their marriage with three children.

Jim was formerly employed as an Electronic Technician at Sperry Rand/Univac and later at Control Data for twenty five years. In 1980, he became the Manager and part owner of Vergin Realty in Buffalo.

He enjoyed antique cars. Jim was a Life Member and past president of the Minnesota Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America.

Survived by daughters: Virginia E. (Garret) Nolan of Chanhassen and Melissa E. (James) Reimers of Deerfield, Wisconsin; a son: James Michael (Rebecca) Vergin of Nerstrand; thirteen grandchildren, a great grandson; three sisters: Lois (Aaron) Dixon and Joyce (Thore) Meyer all of Buffalo and Mabel Hermerding of Crosslake; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by wife: Dorothy Vergin, parents: Albert & Esther, a sister: Gladys Boehlke, and by two brothers: Otto and Virgil Vergin.

Funeral services for James “Jim” Vergin were held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 11th at The Evangelical Covenant Church in Buffalo. Pastor Carl L. Taylor officiated. Interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford.

Casket Bearers were Peter Nolan, Ben Nolan, Andrew Nolan, Samuel Vergin, Cole Gothman, Kurt Schmalz.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
