James R. Farris, age 87, of Buffalo, MN passed away on April 17, 2013 at Parkview Care Center.
He was born on January 14, 1926 in Annandale, MN the son of George and Florence (Heaton) Farris.

He married Lois Mae Tiller at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo, MN. Their marriage was blessed with six children.

James enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed with the South Pacific Fleet during WWII.

James and Lois lived in Minneapolis until 1972 when they moved to Albertville. He worked in the maintenance department at the Minneapolis City Hall until 1988. In the mid-1990’s, they moved to Wanamingo, MN. After Lois’ death on October 4, 2004, James moved to Waverly, MN and then to Buffalo.

He is survived by his children James Farris of Monticello, MN, William Farris of Waverly, MN, Robert (Fran) Farris of Loveland, CO, David Farris of Big Lake, MN, Jana (Owen) Good of Richfield, MN and Carol (Mark) Bistodeau of Albertville, 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, sister Nina Geary of Buffalo, MN, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral service for James Farris will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM at The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, MN. Pastor Highland Goodman will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Monday at the chapel from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.

Interment at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Wanamingo, MN at a later date.

The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo assisted the family with arrangements.
