James Edward Patnode, age 79, of Corcoran passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 at his residence.

He was born on August 30, 1932 in Minneapolis the son of Elmer & Margaret Gleason Patnode.

On September 15, 1956, James E. Patnode & Beverly J. Pettit were joined in holy marriage at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Corcoran. God blessed their marriage with seven children.

Mr. & Mrs Patnode engaged in dairy farming for many years. Jim was a Cargil Seed Dealer. In 1966, he received The Outstanding Young Farmer of Hennepin County.

He also belonged to The Northland Oliver Club and was a Midland Coop Board Member.

Jim enjoyed farming and visiting.

He was a faithful, longtime member of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Corcoran.

Survived by loving wife: Beverly; children: Gary Patnode, Dan (Cindy) Patnode & Daryl (Lori) Patnode all of Corcoran, Mona (Peter) Kurtz of Overland Park, Kansas, Loren (Vickie) Patnode of Baxter, Donna Jacobs and Brian (Christina) Patnode all of Corcoran; grandchildren: Kara, Danielle & Brandt; Nick, Noah & Amy; Briana & Andrew; Dan & Emma; Jake, Emily, Brad & Kyle; Olivia & Maggie; and Vanyssa; sisters and a brother: Lorraine (Dick) Benson and Marion (Grant) Merrill all of Colorado and Mike Patnode of Corcoran; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by a grandson: Adam Patnode, parents: Elmer & Margaret and by a brother Eugene.

A Mass of Christian Burial for James Patnode was held on Monday, April 23rd at 11:00 A.M. St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church0 County Road #10, in Corcoran. Father George Kinney was the Celebrant. Interment followed at St. Jeanne de Chantel Cemetery in Corcoran.

A visitation was held on Sunday, April 22nd at the St. Thomas Hall from 4-8 P.M. Prayer service 7:30 P.M.

Further visitation was held on Monday morning, April 23rd beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the church.

Honorary Casket Bearers were Brad Patnode, Kyle Patnode, and Brandt Patnode.

Casket Bearers were Jake Patnode, Noah Patnode, Kara Kreatz, Andrew Patnode, Amy Patnode and Dan Kurtz.

Memorials are suggested for The Kidney Foundation.
