Ingeborg Helga Gertrud “Inge” Ibs, age 91, of rural Maple Lake died Thursday, September 7th, 2017 at her home.
She was born on April 28th, 1926 in Dresden, Germany, the daughter of Rudolf & Gertrud Krieger.
Inge gave selflessly and touched the hearts of those she came in contact with.
She was a true matriarch who enjoyed cooking, gardening, hosting, swimming, dancing, and sharing a strong cup of coffee.
Inge owned and operated The Cedar Lake Beauty Salon for 20 years.
She was an active and faithful member of The Annandale Evangelical Free Church and was very involved with the church’s Christian Women’s Group and Bible Studies. She was very proud of her German heritage and traditions.
Survived by her loving husband of 67 years: Fritz Ibs Sr. of Maple Lake; sons: Fritz Ibs Jr. and Tom (Sue) Ibs all of Monticello; ten grandchildren: Kristina King, Kim Skanson, Brad Ibs, Steven Ibs, Brian Ibs, Scott Ibs, Rachel Schoepf, Hannah Ibs, Jacob Ibs and Grace Ibs; nine great grandchildren (one on way): Tanner, Ellie, Sawyer, Anya, Owen, Ryder, Marna, Luke and Elin; other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, and by two brothers both lost during World War II Siegfried and Horst Krieger.
A Celebration of Life for Inge Ibs will be held on Friday, September 15th at 1:00 P.M. at The Annandale Evangelical Free Church. Pastor Dennis Johnson will officiate.
Interment was held at The Lakeview Cemetery in rural Maple Lake.
She’s with her Savior!! No more pain, no more struggles. Praise God!!
We will miss her but know that we will see her again. She was a sweet friend to me for many years, a prayer warrior, an encourager, a comforter, a listening ear, and a true servant of God.
Inge was a very special friend in so many ways–for a quick visit, for a haircut, for spiritual blessings. Our friends in Haiti also send their condolences for she visited Haiti in 1989 and Dula, Yvette, Leclerc, and Lyonell have visited Inge in Maple Lake. We will miss Inge. Connie and Pat
So sorry to hear about Inga’s passing. She is now in heaven with her Savior. She was a great inspiration to a lot of people.
I’m sorry this is so late but I was out of town and just saw that Inga had died. I have such fond memories of her…fixing my hair back in the 70’s! She made me feel so special and pretty for every day and all the ‘big’ occasions…3 proms and a wedding!
I will always remember her dancing during The Village Players plays! Beautiful. Please know that I hold you all close to my heart at this sad time.
