Howard William Giese, age 79 of Buffalo, passed away June 18, 2023.

He was born on June 6, 1944 in Wayzata, MN to Theodore and Marcella Giese. As a child, he grew up in Mound and then Mayer, MN.

On June 11, 1966 Howard was joined in marriage to Karen Becker at Cross Lutheran Church in Rockford, MN. Together they raised two daughters. The family lived in St. Louis Park, Delano, and then finally made their forever home in Buffalo.

Howard and his family had a hobby farm where they took care of cows, horses, and other small animals. He enjoyed riding his horses most of all. Howard was a carpenter by trade and in 2009, he retired so he could enjoy more time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Soczynski; grandson, Derek Burgett; parents; and siblings, Gilbert and Roy Giese.

Howard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Karen; daughter, Julie (Shane) Burgett; grandchildren, Dillon and Kendra Burgett, and Amanda, Julia, and Andrew Soczynski; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior at Resurrection Church in Monticello (9300 Jason Ave NE). Inurnment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford, MN at 1:30 PM.
