Hilton Paul Schwalbe, age 88 of Buffalo, MN passed away at Mercy Hospital, Coon Rapids, MN on December 30, 2013. Funeral service on Saturday, Jan 4, 2014 at 1:00 PM at The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service at the funeral home on Saturday. Interment Watertown Cemetery, Watertown, MN.
Hilton was born on February 13, 1925 to Paul & Louise (Hasse) Schwalbe in Laketown Township, Carver County, MN. He was baptized on February 3, 1929 & confirmed on April 5, 1942 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, MN. He graduated from Watertown High School. Hilton served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946. He married Lyla Kuenzel on January 29, 1948 at Evangelical Reformed Church in Lester Prairie, MN. He was a very astute businessman. He enjoyed traveling, dancing, puzzles, playing cards & fishing.
Preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Louise Schwalbe, son, Guy Schwalbe, two sisters, Loretta Jopp & Anita Zastow, brothers-in-law, Vernon Jopp, Alden Jopp, Wilbur Zastow, Roy Ketcher, sister-in-law, Lorraine Schwalbe.
Survived by his wife of 65 years, Lyla Schwalbe of Otsego, MN; son, Owen Schwalbe of St. Michael, MN; daughters, Gail (Dennis )Trittabaugh of Delano, MN, Faye (Carl) Rothenberger of Delano, MN & Donna (Jeff) Krueger of Otsego, MN; grandchildren, Roger (Michelle) Wolter, Lori (Joe Hoglund) Wolter, Jennifer Trittabaugh, Michael (Andrea)Trittabaugh, Justin Krueger & Ryan Krueger; great-grandchildren, Samantha Trittabaugh, Taylor Hoglund, Anthony Trittabaugh & Lance Hoglund; brother, Harold Schwalbe of Waconia, MN; sisters, Irene Jopp of Mayer, MN & Verna Ketcher of Rockford, IL.
