Hillard William “Bill” Kalk, age 76, of Rogers passed away on Thursday, March 6th, 2014.

He was born on October 3rd, 1937 in Minneapolis the son of Louis A. & Glenna E. (Oswald) Kalk.

Hillard graduated from Buffalo High School in 1955.

On April 23rd, 1960, Hillard Kalk and Mavis L. Holmberg were joined in holy marriage at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. God blessed their marriage with three children.

He formerly was employed for Span Crete-Osseo starting in 1968. Prior to working for the Span Crete, Hillard engaged in farming in Corcoran.

He enjoyed playing euchre and belonged to many Senior groups.

Hillard served twenty-five years as Trustee and was a former Church Secretary of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Maple Grove. He was a faithful member of Life in Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville and cut and trimmed their lawn.

Survived by his wife: Mavis; a son: Paul Kalk of Rockford; a daughter: Patti Jo Cohen of Menomonee, Michigan; three grandchildren: Maria, Mitchell and Martin; a sister: Audrey (Bill) Reich of Loretto; a sister-in-law: Betty (Marcel) Quast of Naples, Florida; two nieces and four nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by his mother: Glenna in 1945, his father: Louis in 1969, a son: Jeffrey in 1965 and by a brother: Kenneth Kalk in 1984.

Funeral services for Hillard Kalk will be held on Monday, March 10th at 11:00 A.M. at Life in Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville. Pastor Michael Trask will officiate.

Interment St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Maple Grove.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9th, 2014 from 3-7 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. A Prayer service will be held on Sunday evening at 6:30 P.M.

Casket Bearers will be Lloyd LaValle, Randy Toomey, Terry Reich, Mike Reich, Doug Reich and Dan Reich.
