Hilja Amalia Loukusa, age 86, of Buffalo & formerly of Seattle, Washington passed away on Monday, June 29th, 2015 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
She was born on December 1, 1928 in Posio, Finland the daughter of Kalle & Selma (Luukkonen) Karvonen.
Hilja was a member of The Rockford Laestadian Lutheran Church.
Hilja is survived by her fourteen children: Liisa (Carl) Martin, of Snohomish, Washington; Pentti (Lori) Loukusa, of Hanover, Minnesota; Donald (Miriam) Loukusa, of Rogers, Minnesota; Helen (Elmer) Hillukka, of Buffalo, Minnesota; David (Kris) Loukusa, of Bellevue, Washington; Paul (Shannon) Loukusa, of Rogers, Minnesota; Dick (Melissa) Loukusa, of Monroe, Washington; Steven (Pauline) Loukusa, of Bothell, Washington; Mary Wisuri, of Lynnwood, Washington; Peter (Shelley) Loukusa, of Gold Bar, Washington; Evelyn (Brian) Strand, of Everett, Washington; Leo (Saara) Loukusa, of Snohomish, Washington; Henry (Ann) Loukusa, of Plymouth, Minnesota; and Toivo (Laura) Loukusa, of Orlando, Florida; ninety-one grandchildren; one hundred ninety-nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; her siblings Lempi (Antal) Simon, of Burnaby, British Columbia; Saima (Karl) Ojalehto, of Snohomish, Washington; Aaro (Marcella) Karvonen, of Woodinville, Washington; Rauha (Ernest) Hillukka, of Wolf Lake, Minnesota; and Raimo (Riitta) Karvonen, of Akaa, Finland; sister-in-law Ellen Karvonen, of Sultan, Washington.
Hilja was preceded in death by her husband Antti; granddaughter Annette Hillukka; great-grandson David Martin; siblings Sylvi Karvonen, Mauno Karvonen, and Lyyli (Veikko) Niemela.
A Visitation and Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at The Rockford Laestadian Lutheran Church, 741 Ibarra Ave NE, Buffalo, MN 55313 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM
Further Visitation from 5-9 P.M. and Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at The Seattle Laestadian Lutheran Church, 22420 102nd Ave SE, Woodinville, WA 98072.
Interment will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 2:30 PM at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Road, Lynwood, WA 98036.
