Visitation Information

Helen Lorraine (Bjork) Bjorklund,of Buffalo, was born on September 15, 1925, at the old Catlin Hospital, delivered by Dr. Catlin, to Fred Bjork and Helen Mabel (Flamant) Bjork of Buffalo, MN.

She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1943, as Salutatorian.

She worked for the Buffalo Auditors office, BF Nelson in Minneapolis, Receptionist for John W. Hier; Optometrist, and was a homemaker.

Lorraine married Marshall Bjorklund on June 8th, 1949 at the Buffalo Covenant Church. They were married for 54 years.

She deeply loved God; her husband, their three children – Trevor, Tammy (Al) Benney and Trish, her grandchildren Nick (Stephanie) Reitenour, and Tasha (Jeff) Goudy, and her five great grandchildren, Dexter, Rowan, and Spencer Reitenour, and Kinley and Kendall Goudy.

Lorraine passed away at the Parkview Care Center in Buffalo on October 5th, 2016, surrounded by her family, at the age of 91.

She wanted to be known as a person who loved the Lord and loved other people, and the amount of visitors she had to her room at Parkview is testament to both of those things.

There will be a celebration service in honor of Lorraine, on Saturday, October 15th, at 11:00 am at the Buffalo Covenant Church in Buffalo, MN. Reception to follow the service.

The family would like to thank the nurses and care providers at Parkview Care Center. They were much more than just staff to Lorraine. We thank them for loving and caring for our mom. We would also like to thank her Allina Hospice and Palliative care team for the care and comfort they gave as her Parkinson’s progressed. She bravely fought her battle with Parkinson’s disease and suffers no more.

My thoughts are with the family. Lorraine was a beautiful Christian woman. My dad(Paul) and I always enjoyed visiting with her at the center. May your happy memories make you smile.

Dear Bjorklund family; Our thoughts and prayers go out to you as you grieve the loss of Helen. We are sorry we could not be in attendance at her funeral, as we were out of town attending our college grandson’s soccer game. When we visited Helen at Park View, she was always so gracious and appreciative, and realize how much she loved her family. God’s Blessings to all of you in the loss of a special lady. The Bjorks go a long way back in my family, The Bonstrom’s. Jeannie & Dave
