Throughout Harvey’s young life he worked hard at various jobs and was proprietor of several small businesses before he went on to start Midland Nursery around 1960. Harvey took great pride in the family business and loved working closely with his children and grandchildren. He was a talented, persuasive businessman with a passion for sales and an approach to customer service that was all his own.
In both personal and professional settings Harvey was known for his great sense of humor and love for weaving elaborate tales that some might even refer to as B.S.” His love for music, singing and telling tales was often expressed through silly made-up songs that often times weren’t actually all that bad..!

Heather and family so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was so pleasant to talk to when I came in the store.
Prayers and blessings for you all.
The Fleck family sends our sincere condolences. Our brother Richard and Harvey were great friends.
I will never forget the wonderfully times we spent together over the years. RIP
So sorry for your loss. Harvey was a great friend, whether telling a story, singing a song or always willing to help a friend, he will be missed, but forever remembered. RIP my friend!
My deepest sympathies to the Foss family. Harvey, Harvey, Harvey……so many things come to mind. He’s a one of a kind man – an unforgettable man. The world has few people to have his gift of a quick wit, a great story teller and humor that you chuckling hours or even days after you were with him. The ability to make you look at the world from an entirely different angle. Resourceful, shrewd and smart in many ways. Harvey was thinking outside of the box long before there was a box. Always generous and a wonderful friend. He was known by many and will be missed by many more. RIP.
To the Foss family, I’m very sorry to hear of Harvey’s passing. He was one of my favorite business clients for many years. I actually met Harvey when Midland Nursery opened way back in the 60’s when we would ride our bikes to the shopping center and then over to his nursery and he would give us a good natured hard time. That continued thru the decades especially during the Jerome Begin era. He was a true gentlemen and always willing to provide advice (good advice) on my various yard/landscaping issues. I’ll miss our conversations about many subjects.
So sorry to hear about Harvey,I have many Great memories with him. He always had my deepest respect. I will miss his funny stories. RIP
Heather, Nick and Ryan
So sorry for the loss of Harvey, he was a great man and early mentor to me. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family
So sad to hear about Harvey. I can echo all of the comments already made. He was an Original, a throw back to the Old Days, a guy who continued to evolve, and roll with the times.
Loved talking with him.
Very sorry to hear Harvey has passed. He was always good to me over the years. I often think back to find days of his smiles and stories. I loved his smirk most of all. The look he would give. Harvey was a good man. So sorry to hear of his passing. Godspeed.
