December 8, 1929 – January 12, 2023

Harold John Lindberg

Harold was called to heaven on January 12th, 2023. He is survived by four children: Jean (Bob), John (Kathleen), Jane (Paul) and Jill. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. As he entered his heavenly home he was greeted by his wife Mary Lou, his daughter Mary Jo and son James. Harold was born in Duluth, MN on December 8, 1929, to parents Harold Clifford Lindberg and Elsie Mae Martin. He joined the Army at age 16 and was sent to South Korea as part of the Army of Occupation after WWII. Harold and his loving wife Mary Lou met in their hometown of Duluth, MN when they were teenagers. They then moved to Minneapolis once they were married in their early twenties. He worked for General Mills and then for the US Postal Office as a carrier until he retired early. Harold then opened Lindberg Travel which offered many world travel adventures for him and Mary Lou to share. He was an avid follower of the Minnesota sports teams. His greatest joy was spending time with family and watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s activities. Harold was a funny, witty character who leaves a legacy of love, laughter and humor. A Chapel Service will be celebrated in memory of Harold on Thursday, January 19th at Noon, with a visitation before at 10:00 am, both at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Interment will be held after luncheon at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at the Willows Landing in Monticello for the loving care they provided for Harold.
