Hickman, Hale C. age 98, of Buffalo, died December 29, 2007.

He was born in Whitten, Iowa on November 16, 1909 the son of William S. & Ida Schoeppach Hickman. Mr. Hickman honorably served his Country in the United States Navy during WWII. For many years Mr. Hickman served as an educator. He was a former teacher/administrator, an Assistant to The Superintendent of Schools, Junior-Senior High School Principal, mainly in Independent School District #181 in Brainerd, Minnesota. Hale retired from education in 1973.

Survived by children, Retired U.S. Naval Commander, Ronald W. (Charmaine) Hickman of Springfield, Virginia and Mary L. Archbold of Brooklyn Park; six grandchildern, Lisa, Julie & Susan; Nicole, Abbie & Jesse; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Ila Young of Arizona; a sister- in-law, Birdie Hickman of Buffalo; other relatives and friends.

In addition to his loving wife Margaret in 1996, Hale was preceded in death by a son, Robert “Bob” Hickman in 2006; his parents; brothers, Milton & Eli; and by a sister, Mabel Stubson.

A memorial service for Hale Hickman will be held on Saturday, January 19 at 3 PM at The Buffalo Presbyterian Church.

Memorials are suggested for The Alzheimer’s Association.

    Mary,
    I am sorry about the passing of your father. And, please accept my sincere condolences. I apologize that with the holidays, I missed finding out until now. I do have very fond memories of Hale and you, his wonderful daughter. I hope that find peace and comfort at this time.

    Hale is missed so very much at the Cottages, I am so greatful that I had the opprotunity to share in his life and yours. He had a smile and sense of humor like no other. His laughter and spirit will live on forever in my heart. God Bless you
