Gregg Thomas Ledin, age 54 of Aitkin, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016. He was born December 15, 1961 in Duluth, the son of Thomas and Nancy.
Gregg is a 1980 graduate from Brooklyn Center High School. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1984 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked at Mentor/Coloplast for 28 years.
Gregg was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed working on his lake home, spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Preceded in death by his father: Thomas Ledin.
Survived by his mother: Nancy (Joe) Griesgraber of Shoreview; children: Stacey (Jeff) Magnuson of Otsego, Rachel Ledin (fiancé Martin Edgett) of Monticello, Matthew Ledin of Otsego; one grandchild on the way; brothers: Jeff Ledin of Minneapolis, Todd Ledin of St. Cloud; and many other family and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 19, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home in St. Michael. 763-497-5362. www.thepetersonchapel.com.

Over the past 11 years at Mentor/Coloplast Gregg has taught me alot about engineering, but even more importantly he loved talking hunting and fishing. He will be missed.

I am so sorry for the loss of Gregg. He was much too young and I’m sure your hearts are broken!
I remember the times we shared when we were young at family reunions and holidays spent together at Ryegate and in Miles City with fondness! I remember Gregg as a nice, fun guy with such a great smile! He always had something to say and was so friendly! He had a wonderful way of making everyone feel welcome. I’m sure he’s having some good conversations with my brothers and the rest of our family in heaven. May you find peace and comfort in this difficult time. Love and hugs to you all!
I had worked with Gregg for the past 27 plus years. He was one of my closest friends. He was an extraordinary Engineer for Mentor/ Coloplast – automated processes and/or brought the technology in-house. We did a lot of things together – softball, bowling, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, meat raffles, and cutting wood for the Winter months. There will be a large void in my life now but have great memories of him. One thing about Gregg, he was the only person that I knew that would start laughing before he could finish his joke.

Gregg was a great guy and will be missed. I still remember the great time we had ice fishing on Lake of the Woods. My condolences.
So very sad to hear about Gregg’s passing. He was always so happy to see me and my family when we went down his way to visit. I will miss his smile, conversations and visits. Breaks my heart. Prayers to the Gregg Ledin family.

I had the privilege to work with Gregg for almost 4 years. He treated everyone with respect and was always willing to take on new engineering challenges. He had a unique sense of humor that was fun to be around. It was well known the significant contributions Gregg made to the company over the years and he took pride in his work.
It was also fun to hear the stories of raising wild birds, hunting, fishing, and challenges that come from living on his own in the woods. He has touched the lives of many people at Coloplast and will be dearly missed.
I worked with Gregg over the past 16 years – he was a smart engineer and good team player.
