Gloria (“Glo”) K. Elliott, age 86, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2017 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in rural Buffalo (which was also Glo’s grandparent’s homestead). Glo was born on November 2, 1930 in Buffalo, Minnesota to A. Glenn and Edith (Persian) Ward. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1948. While in high school she met the love of her life, Donnie Elliott. Donnie and Glo were married in 1949 aboard the USS Wright in Norfolk, Virginia, while Donnie was in the Navy.
Over the years to follow, Glo and Donnie lived in Circle Pines, Park Rapids and Staples before returning to Buffalo in 1969. After Donnie’s passing in 1972, Glo would dedicate the next 44 years to raising her ten children, her first priority and her greatest joy. In 1987 Glo married Oliver Ordorff. Following Oliver’s passing in 1994, Glo moved into a condo at Tower Hill in Buffalo where she has resided for the last 21 years.

Throughout the years Glo worked at the Buffalo House Restaurant, Market Place/Cub Foods and the Buffalo Dry Cleaners before retiring at the age of 72. Although she was done working, Glo continued to stay in touch with several friends she made along the way… many of which became part of her large family. Playing cards, antiquing, shopping, lunches at Culvers & the DQ were a few of Glo’s enjoyments. And we can’t forget the baking. Glo made chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies weekly, much to the delight of all of us! By far, Sunday morning breakfasts with the kids and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids were the highlight!

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Donnie, daughter Debra Johnson, brother Tedd Ward, sisters Vivian Belstler and Carol Fluck, Oliver Ordorff.

She is survived by: Her children – Wayne (Kay) Elliott, Nancy (Jim) LaFave, Brian (Cindy) Elliott, Patricia (Jim) Dearing, Pamela (Kim) Barse, Tedd (Cheryl) Elliott, Dawn (Dennis) Stuhr, Gary (Brenda) Elliott, Kimberly (Steve) Bruhn, son-in-law Barry Johnson, 26 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law – Fran Ward, Beverly Barringer, Clare Elliott, Patricia Olson, Zella LaLiberte, Tom and Honey Lou Elliott, Barbara Elliott, Ginny and Vance Russell, numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service Tuesday, February 21st, 2017 at 1 p.m. with time for gathering 1 hour prior, all at Buffalo United Methodist Church in Buffalo.

To Glo’s beautiful family – our hearts are breaking for all of you. Your Mom was one beautiful, amazing and very classy lady and always smiling. She’s now smiling and hugging from above and Heaven is one lucky place to gain such a wonderful Angel. Prayers and hugs to you all.
