Gladys E. Bursch, age 95, of Buffalo died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Lake Ridge Care Center.
She was born on July 15, 1912 near Rockford the daughter of Herman & Hannah Pett Zierman.
Gladys was baptized on July 19, 1912 at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on August 21, 1925 at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church.
On May 31, 1933, Gladys E. Zierman & Lawrence C. Bursch were joined in holy marriage at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford. God blessed their marriage with four sons. Mr. & Mrs. Bursch engaged in dairy farming for many years. Lawrence died accidentally in 1965.
She was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield and formerly belonged to the St. Michael Senior Citizens.
Survived by loving sons: Alvin (Gayle) Bursch of Loretto, Donald (Bernice) Bursch of Buffalo, Marvin Merk Bursch of Loretto and Harvey (Sharon) Bursch of Fairbault; twelve grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Gladys was preceded in death by parents: Herman & Hannah Zierman, a brother: Willis Zierman, a sister: Alice Bursch and by a daughter-in-law: Judy Bursch.
Funeral services for Gladys Bursch were held on Saturday, April 19th at 11:00 A.M. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Pastor Dennis K. Strong officiated and interment followed at Salem Lutheran Cemetery.
Honorary Casket Bearers were Brian Bursch, Toni Duerr, Lori Rodriguez and Julie Bursch.
Casket Bearers were Todd, Kevin, Jerry, Jeff, Larry, Tom, Terry and Bob Bursch.
