Gerard Kenneth “Gerry” Robeck, 62, of Monticello (formerly Albertville for 30 years) passed away Wednesday, December 28th peacefully at home in the company of loved ones. His long battle with various health issues is a testament to how much he loved his family and friends and we are grateful for how hard he fought. We are relieved his suffering has ended, yet our hearts are broken as our husband, father, grandfather, and friend will be greatly missed. Gerard was born to Richard and Dolores (Fehn) Robeck on February 9, 1960.  Survived by wife: Marianne; children: Ashley Robeck (Ryan Auger) and Kyle Robeck; grandchildren: Ezra, Neva and Wade; his mother: Dolores “Dolly” Robeck; siblings: Anita (Kevin) Roden, Renee Stein, Joyce Robeck (Bryce Eberfeld), Edward (Ruth) Robeck and Dwayne (Heidi) Robeck; many other relatives and friends.    Preceded in death by his father Richard A. “Rick” Robeck, a brother Charles “Charlie” Robeck.  Gerard was an exceptionally hard worker and longtime former employee of SUPERVALU Distribution Center in Hopkins. He took pride in ownership, taking great care of his home, yard, vehicles, etc. He was adventurous and liked to travel with his wife, fishing, and cooking-particularly when it came to barbequing or smoking meat. His father passed down to him a love for pickling and would spend time with family jarring pickles, jalapenos, and sauerkraut every year. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. He often used humor as a way to show his love.  Always thinking about and ensuring the well-being of others, you could often find him clearing snow from a neighbor’s driveway, helping build someone’s house, or moving them with one of his many pickup trucks over the years. He really took the time to visit with people and make them feel important. He was very well-known and respected. Aside from caring about people and helping them in any way he could, he was regarded as a leader at work, on the football field, and coaching his kid’s baseball/softball teams. The oldest of 7 siblings, Gerard was protective and a pillar of strength. “A tough guy with a big heart”.  A Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.   Visitation at the funeral home Tuesday, January 3rd 4-8 P.M.   Prayer service 6:30 P.M.    Further visitation Wednesday, January 4th one hour prior to Mass at the church.

Gerard was one of a kind. He always had a smile for you and willing to help whenever he could. I always remember him helping me on one of the handicapped fishing outings where one guy couldn’t get out of the boat, Gerard reached over from the dock grabbed the man in a bear hung and lifted him onto the dock before the guy knew what happened. Here is a good man gone too soon.

We are very saddened to hear Gerard has passed away. He was such a joy to be around. We too remember fondly the yearly party he would throw for the the Albertville Friendly City parade. You were always a welcomed friend in his presence. Our son spent many days at the Robeck house and, through our kids, got to know Gerard and Marianne well. He is truly one of the good ones…..gone to soon. Prayers for you Marianne, Ashley and Kyle. May God comfort you in your time of grief.
