Gerald Joseph Salonek, age 65, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born February 9, 1950 in Watertown, Minnesota, the son of Harold Anthony and Caroline Bertha (Otten) Salonek.

Jerry was a graduate of Buffalo High School. After graduation he owned Salonek Roofing for 30 + years, then worked for Wright Way Preferred Pallet Shop for 15 years.

In 1983, Gerald Joseph Salonek and Betty Ann Muehler were united in marriage at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minnesota.

Jerry was an avid hunter –especially deer hunting, he enjoyed four wheeling up North, bonfires, wood working, time spent with family and friends, and most recently becoming “Winter Texans” with Betty.

Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Caroline Salonek; and infant brother.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Montrose; children, Julie (Dean) Dunnigan of Delano, Michelle (Trevor) Brummer of Cokato, Brian (Stephanie) Salonek of Buffalo; stepchildren, Geri (Brent) Kowalke, Gene Klatt, Geni (Sam) Gregorich all of Buffalo; 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ken (Judy) Salonek of Huntersville, MN, Ruth Ann (Lowell) Rolfzen of Buffalo, Kathy (Ed) Walker of Buffalo, Bill (Robin Phillips) Salonek of Hurley, WI, Larry (fiancé, Jennifer Volk) Salonek of Montrose; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A celebration of life/open house for Jerry Salonek will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at his home, 1690 35th Street SW, Montrose, MN.

Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waverly, Minnesota.
