Gerald E. “Jerry” Rux, age 71, of Rockford passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at his residence.

He was born on September 10, 1940 in Rockford the son of Ernest & Minnie (Lange) Rux.

Gerald was baptized at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church.

On August 4th, 1962, Gerald E. Rux and Lonnie C. Vance were joined in holy marriage at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. God blessed their marriage with two children.

He was formerly employed as a mechanic at Murphy Motor Freight in Roseville.

Gerald belonged to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. “Jerry” belonged to both The Buffalo and Delano Gun Clubs.

Survived by loving wife: Lonnie C. Rux; Children: Dennis (Cristi) Rux of Rockford & Tracy (Roger) Lee of Watford, North Dakota; grandchildren: Nichol, Jessica, Jenny, Taylor & Max; eight great grandchildren; sisters: Vernetta Schmidt and Arlene Johnson both of Buffalo; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: Ernest & Minnie and by a brother: Elroy and two sisters: Jeanette Klonne & Diane Rux.

Funeral services for Gerald “Jerry” Rux will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd at 11:00 A.M. Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church-Greenfield. Pastor Dennis K. Strong will officiate. Interment Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, May 23rd from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.

Casket Bearers will be Chad Vollbrecht, Ron Martin, Steve Hines, Brian Kettenacker, Mike Kettenacker and Mark Kettenacker.

The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home is serving the family.

    I’m so sorry for your loss! It’s been a while since I’ve seen Jerry (or Lonnie and Dennis) but I remember he was such a wonderful man. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you all.
