George F. Therres, age 82, of Albertville & formerly of St. Louis Park passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
He was born on March 11, 1930 in Minneapolis the son of George & Leona Marlett Therres.
On June 17, 1950, Goerge F. Therres & Dolores Rudisuhle were joined in holy marriage at The Church of St. Albert in Minneapolis. God blessed their marriage with four children.
Employed for forty two years as an electrician and belonged to I.B.E.W. #292.
He was an avid sportsman and especially enjoyed fishing. George was fond of being a pilot, bowling, golfing and shooting pool.
He was a faithful member of The Church of St. Michael in St. Michael and formerly belonged to Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Louis Park. George also was a life member of Knights of Columbus Council # 3949.
Though he led an active life, his family always came first!
Survived by loving wife of sixty two years: Dolores; children: Kathy (Tim) Beltrand of Plymouth, George A. (Sherry) Therres of Mound, Mary (John) Engstrom & Allan Therres all of Albertville; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one due in November; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by parents: George & Leona and by a sister: Lee Hougen.
A Mass of Christian Burial for George Therres will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday Church of St. Michael in St. Michael. Interment St. Michael Cemetery.
A visitation will be held at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home on Monday, May 28th from 4-7 P.M. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Further visitation at the church on Tuesday, May 29th one hour prior to Mass.
Casket Bearers will be Mike Hamer, Pat Hamer, Dylan Therres, Hunter Therres, Brian Westly, Brad Westly, Vaughn Marcus and Blake Riley.
The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home served the family.
Ah Daddy, we miss you so much! We know you are in a much better place now. We will take good care of Mom. Love you more then words can say….

It’s hard to think of comfort at this time, but that’s exactly what you should be thinking of. The COMFORT KNOWING that “Big George” is in comfort with the Lord. No more pain. No more suffering. His sacrifice on this earth is complete. He is now at rest looking down at us and guiding us. Be strong for each other. Love and Peace to you all.
