Gene A. Volk, born Oct 19/1940. Owner operator of Volk & Sons Construction. Passed away Jul 31, 2008 at the age of 67. A hard worker, Gene lived life fully.
Survivors: girl friend, Janet Makela, rural Buffalo; son, Christopher (fiancée, Sandie Heiskary) Volk, Rockford; daughter, Carrie Volk, Minnetonka; friend, Mark (Michelle) Ashley & their children: Rance & Kennedy, North Branch; sister, Eva Schlichting, St. Peter; former wife, Marlene (nee Dubas) Volk, Minnetonka; sister-in-law, Margo Volk, Plymouth; grandchildren: David Cole-Volk, Brandon Volk; nephews & niece: Shane & Michael Volk, Tim Teschendorf, & Brenda Parker; grandnieces & nephews. Preceded by son, Craig; brother, Glenn; & mother Mary (nee Davidson).

Funeral 2 PM Mon 8/4/08 at the Peterson Chapel – St. Michael/Albertville in St. Michael. Visitation starts at Noon. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery immediately following the service.

Driving directions (construction): From Twin Cities: Hwy 94 West to Hwy 241 West into St. Michael. Turn right (North) at Lincoln (Lincoln is just west of Super America/McDonald’s and a liquor store). Lincoln turns into Summit. North on Summit. Turn left (West) onto Cottonwood. Follow Cottonwood as it curves North. Turn left (West) onto Frankfort Parkway. Funeral Home drive is on the right off of Frankfort Parkway.
