Gayle Ruby Yager, age 86 of Buffalo, MN, previously of Howard Lake, Mn, peacefully passed away on December 23, 2023.

She was born on August 2, 1937, in Buffalo, MN, the eldest daughter of Clarence and Florence (Holland) Rose. Gayle was raised in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at the age of 13 at Bethlehem Lutheran. She attended and graduated from Maple Lake High School.

Growing up on the family farm, Gayle enjoyed all the outside chores like baling hay and milking cows. Her favorite was caring for her horse.

Gayle was united in marriage to Ralph Yager on June 3, 1956 at Bethlehem Lutheran. This union was blessed with the birth of 3 children. Together they made their home outside of Howard Lake.

Known for her vibrant spirit, Gayle was a social butterfly who loved to dance. The Blue Note, Howard Lake Legion and wedding dances were some of her favorites. Her enthusiasm for life extended beyond the dance floor; she genuinely enjoyed being in the company of others, making friends easily.

Gayle lost most of her eyesight in her 40’s. The challenges she faced did not change her. She remained resilient and enjoying life to the fullest. Gayle found joy in the simple pleasures of life, traveling, going to the casino, shopping, girl trips, and swimming at the health club. She also had a passion for card games, particularly hearts and rummy, which became cherished pastimes shared with friends and family.

Gayle is survived by her children, Connie (Chris) Johnson of Cokato, MN, Kurt (Leah) Yager of Brainerd, MN and Jodi (Greg) Yee of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Michael Frieler, Kyle Johnson, Megan Johnson, Kayla (Ben) Tronson, Heather (Nate) Schleif, Deven (Emily) Yee and Gayle (Andrew) Goerzen; 16 great grandchildren; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; sisters, Kathryn Laager and Karen Klugow.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Vision Loss Resources.
