Francis A. Otten, age 77 of Buffalo passed away on Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

Francis was born on October 9, 1932 in Buffalo the son of Herman & Rose (Rancour) Otten.

He was baptized confirmed and attended school all at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo.

Francis honorably served his Country in The United States Army during the Korean War.

He married the love of his life Elaine Cacka on May 10, 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with six children.

Francis was formerly employed as a factory worker at Minnesota Moline.

He loved to read and enjoyed History.

He was a member of The Church of St. Francis in Buffalo. He also belonged to The Buffalo American Legion Post #270
Survived by his loving wife of fifty four years: Elaine Otten; children: Bruce (Debbie) Otten of Buffalo, Charles “Chuck” (Joanne) Otten of Phoenix, Arizona, Mary (Carl)Eull of St. Michael, Jean (Rick) Scott of Buffalo, Joan Heskin (Joe Webber) of Maple Lake and Mike (Roxanne) Otten of Buffalo; fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sisters: Florence Rasset of Montrose and Caroline Salonek of Buffalo; brothers: Vernon Otten of Buffalo and Donald Otten of Hillman; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: Herman & Rose Otten and by a daughter-in-law: Glory Bea Otten.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Francis Otten will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 10:00 A.M. at The Church of St. Francis in Buffalo. Father David Hennen will be the Celebrant. Special music will be provided by The Resurrection Choir. The Organist will be Marilyn Quigley.

Interment St. Mark’s Cemetery with military honors.

    I shared alot of laughs with Francis and all of you at the various events/functions.
