Visitation Information

Funeral services will be at 12 noon, Thursday, July 31st, for Frances G. Gastinger, 88, Monticello, MN, who died on July 27, 2008, at the Monticello-Big Lake Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness. Celebrant Bill Cavanagh will officiate at The Peterson Chapel, St. Michael-Albertville, MN. Interment will be at the Otsego Cemetery in Otsego, MN following the service.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the family present from 11:00 a.m. to noon.

Frances was born on October 8, 1919 at Sunburg, MN, to Albert and Ida (Flolo) Ellingboe. She grew up around the Sunburg-Kerkhoven area. She worked as a hairstylist in Kerkhoven, MN for many years.

On September 29, 1951, she was united in marriage to Charles P. Gastinger. The couple moved to Minneapolis where she continued to work as a hair stylist until she moved to Monticello in 1973.

Survivors include her son, Don; a granddaughter, Jennifer Gastinger; great grandchildren, Chantell, Destiny and Deante; a sister, Laverne Peterson, many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gastinger; and parents Albert and Ida Ellingboe.

    I will miss my dear Aunt very much. I am glad I got to spend some time with her and my Uncle Charlie before he passed away at his 90th birthday. I love you Aunt Fran.
