Eula Belle Lewerke, age 81, formerly of Buffalo and currently of Annandale, passed away on Wednesday, November 20th, 2013.

She was born on April 2, 1932 in Armstrong, Iowa the daughter of Luverne & Helen (Wertz) Zufall.

On May 6, 1949, Eula Zufall and Harm Lewerke were joined in holy marriage at Estherville, Iowa. God blessed their marriage with six children.

Eula was formerly employed at The University of Minnesota, Texa Tonka, Buffalo Dry Cleaners, Wright County Human Services and at Minyards Deli.

She was an avid bowler. Eula enjoyed reading, crocheting and cooking.

Eula was a former volunteer at The Buffalo Community Center and belonged to the Evangelical Covenant Church in Buffalo.

She enjoyed time spent in Irving, Texas.

Survived by children: Steve Lewerke of Annandale, Noreen (James) Buschel of Georgia, Donnie (Donna) Lewerke of St. Paul, Debbie Lewerke of Annandale and Danny Lewerke of Pequot Lakes; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and nine great, great grandchildren; a sister: Joan (Roger) Lohse of Welcome, Minnesota; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by husband: Harm, a son: Paul, a daughter-in-law: Lonnie, her parents and by a brother & sister-in-law: Harry (Janice) Zufall.

Funeral services for Eula Lewerke will be held on Tuesday, November 26th at 11:00 A.M. at The Evangelical Covenant Church in Buffalo. Pastor Reid Gilbert will officiate. Special music will be provided by Karin and Dan Wickman.

Interment will follow at Swedish Mission Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 25th from 4-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. A Prayer service will be held at 7:30 P.M.

Further visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26th at the church one hour prior to services.

Casket Bearers will be Eula’s five grandson’s and a great grandson.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo is serving the family.

    I had the pleasure of working with her at Wright County from 2001 through her retirement. I enjoyed her good nature and caring attitude. My sincerest condolences to the family. She was a very nice woman.

    I can’t help but smile to see your Mother’s face. I went to school with Danny and worked many years ago with Noreen at the Retirement Center. The reason I smile is because I still remember the colored bread she would put in your school lunches and always thought how what a cool thing for a Mom to do. She was really a special person and I am sure she is missed deeply.
