Eugene Frank Illies, age 82, of St. Michael passed away on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018 at Lakeside Oasis at Lake Ridge in Buffalo.
He was born on April 21, 1935 in St. Cloud the son of Richard & Rosella (Becker) Illies.
Eugene honorably served his Country in The United States Army.
On June 2nd, 1962, Eugene F. Illies and Karen A. Goeb were joined in holy marriage at The St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, Mn. God blessed their marriage with four children.
Eugene was formerly employed for Land O’ Lakes in their I.T. Department and retired from there.
He enjoyed golf and fishing.
Eugene was a faithful, lifetime member of The St. Michael Catholic Church and served as an usher.
Survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years: Karen A. Illies; children: Linda M. (Howard) Schultz, Deborah A. (Thomas) Buhl, Michael J. (Karen) Illies and Sandra J. (Scott) Timmerman; four grandchildren: Samantha Buhl, Carsten Timmerman, Jacob Illies and Jason Illies; siblings: Cathy (Frank) Zachmann, Robert (Patricia) Illies and Dennis (Neen) Illies; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marilyn Vetsch, a brother Don Illies and by a sister Elaine Rowland.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene Illies will be held on Friday, January 5th, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at The St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, Mn. Father Peter Richards will be the Celebrant.
Interment will follow at The St. Michael Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 5th one hour prior to Mass.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Samantha Buhl, Carsten Timmerman, Jacob Illies and Jason Illies.
Casket Bearers will be Rick Zachmann, Joe Vetsch, Chad Rowland, Nick Illies, Steve Illies and Eddie Illies.
