Esther Emelia Sabrowsky Schlueter, age 87, of Fridley and formerly of Buffalo died Monday, October 8, 2007 at her residence.
She was born on August 22, 1920 in Albany the daughter of Fredrick W. & Mabel Buth Sabrowsky.
Esther was baptized in October of 1920 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Farming Township, rural Albany by The Reverend Knaus. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in The Christian faith on April of 1934 by The Reverend Carl Rohe. Her confirmation memory verse was John 3:16
On October 6, 1945, Esther E. Sabrowsky and Arthur R. Schlueter were joined in holy marriage at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Farming Township, rural Albany. God blessed their marriage with three daughters.
Esther was a faithful member of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and belonged to Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Ham Lake, Minnesota.
Esther spent most of her working years at Wonderalls in Buffalo. After retirement, she was busier than ever doing professional sewing, babysitting for family and friends, and working for Mert and Bonnie Thompson at The Buffalo Nickel. She was an avid baker and supplied the shop with all of her goodies. She will be deeply missed!
Survived by loving daughters: Diane Nadeau of Anoka & Donna (Duane) Bodin of Buffalo; son-in-law: Bill Haynes of Tennessee; grandchildren: Gary (Lisa) Cochran, Bryan (Brenda) Cochran, Jody (Dan) Lomax, Casey (Marcy) Bodin & Cory (Marie) Backlund; step grandson: Joey; great grandchildren: Kolby Backlund, Alex Lomax, Mitchell Bodin, Tyler Haynes, Bradan Cochran and baby Bodin (Casey & Marcy); three brothers, two sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Preceded in death by her loving husband: Art Schlueter on November 8, 2003,
a daughter: Nancy and by a grandson: Jason, her parents, a brother: Alfred Sabrowsky and by a sister: Hildegard Shadbolt.
Funeral Services for Esther Schlueter were held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Ham Lake. Pastor Dennis Perryman officiated. Interment Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Friends called on Wednesday, October 10th from 4-7 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. A Prayer Service was held at 5:30 P.M.
Honorary Casket Bearers were Bill Haynes, Lisa Cochran, Brenda Cochran, Marcy Bodin, Alex Lomax, Kolby Backlund, Mitchell Bodin, Tyler Haynes and Bradan Cochran.
Casket Bearers were Jody Lomax, Gary Cochran, Bryan Cochran, Casey Bodin, Dan Lomax, Cory Backlund and Duane Bodin.
