Esther Alma (Bolduc) Johnson,age 90, formerly of Crystal and South St. Paul, passed away on Tuesday, May 4th 2010 at the St. Therese Health Care Center in New Hope, MN.
Esther was born January 21, 1920, the daughter of Alma and Edward Splittstosser in Greenwood Twp., MN. She was baptized on April 4th, 1920, and confirmed in the Christian faith on March 25th, 1934, at the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield, MN.
On June 24th, 1940, Esther and Raymond Bolduc were united in marriage in Delano, MN. Raymond passed away in 1966 after 25 years of marriage to Esther.
On November 8th, 1969, Esther married Everett Johnson. Everett passed away in October of 1986.
Esther was employed at Sperry Univac until her retirement in 1982. She kept busy with gardening, crocheting, and doing other needlework. She loved to dance and be around her family. She always had a dog for a companion, of which she had many. As her health declined she moved from her home in Crystal, to assisted living at Steeple Point in Osseo. She loved it there. As she needed more care she moved to the St. Therese Home until her death, brought on by complications of a stroke.
Esther is survived by her loving family: niece JoAnne J. (James E.) Murray of Greenfield, MN.
Great-nephew James P. Murray and Great-niece Jodi (Parc) Gunderson. Great-great nieces Avery and Ashley Gunderson. Other relatives and friends.
Esther is preceded in death by: husbands Raymond Bolduc and Everett Johnson, parents Edward and Alma Splittstosser, sister Evelyn Bolduc, brother-in-law David Bolduc.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 8th, 2010, at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:30.
Interment is at the Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford, MN.
