Visitation Information

Ernest J. “Junior” Boese, age 55 of St Michael, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 12, 2009.

Junior was born on November 8, 1954 in Mellen, Wisconsin to Ernest and Gloria (Hines) Boese. He and his family moved to Minnesota when he was five years old. A Class of ’72 graduate of Eisenhower High School in Hopkins, Junior went on to study art at Normandale Community College. He held various jobs (such as landscaper, store manager, artist, assembler, and more) before going to work for Sungard in Hopkins. He worked there over 29 years, including the day he died. On September 3, 1983 he married Jeannie Hutchinson at the Assembly of God Church in Hopkins. They were blessed with two sons, with whom Junior was very involved, for example coaching baseball with the St Michael/Albertville Youth Association. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, and music. A talented vocalist, Junior loved singing and did so for many events and churches. As a man of God and integrity, he invested his life in being a good husband and father.

Junior is survived by wife, Jeannie and sons, Brandon and Aaron; mother and step-father, “Glo” & Jim Stevenson, Hopkins; brother, Steve (Shonda) Stevenson, Long Beach, California; sisters: Sheryl (Scott) Englar, Brooklyn Park, Connie (Ramon) Marcos, Crystal, Tammy Stevenson, Tampa, Florida, and Terri Stevenson, St Anthony Village; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Boese.

The Funeral Service was held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 16, 2009 at Grove Christian Center in Maple Grove with Reverend Greg Hickle officiating. Casket bearers were: Randy Marcos, Ryan Englar, Nathan Englar, David Lueck, Gabe Hutchinson, and Kyle Hutchinson. The visitation was Sunday from 4-8 PM at the Peterson Chapel – St Michael/Albertville Funeral Home, 300 N Main, St Michael and resumed at church, one hour before the funeral. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

Junior was such a man of God. We were proud to have Him and Jeanie as the God Parents for our daughters. We will miss him but look forward to seeing him with Jesus when we get to heaven.

Starr and I are shocked at the loss but deeply grateful for the strong faith, grace and caring that Junior brought to the SunGard offices over so many years. He thought the world of his family, and placed his life in God’s hands. That’s something for all of us to shoot for.

I took a final look at Junior’s office today. After working with Junior for over 22 years it became clear to me what really mattered to Junior. His office was filled with pictures of his family, various trophies from his coaching days with his kids and his time with his wife and friends. What he left behind on his walls said it all. Junior’s family and friends meant everything to him. We will miss him dearly at SunGard.

Junior was such an awesome guy. I have worked with him for the whole 18 years I have been at SunGard and he was always willing to help and such a good friend and coworker. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone or anything. I will miss his smiling face and sense of humor so much.

I learned of Junior’s passing, just recently, Jeannie.

It’s been a very long time, but I remember you both quite clearly and am absolutely grateful for the inspiration you bestowed upon my life.

During my travels outside of Minnesota, I, too, lost my companion and I have never been the same. Something which shakes us to the very core of our beings, shapes the entirety of our time remaining on this planet.

I don’t know if you’re still teaching, but I emailed you at your staff address.

Sincerest regards and the warmest of wishes to you and yours.

    Chris
