Erma Dressel, age 90, former longtime resident of rural Delano, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.
Erma was born September 29, 1921 to Bill and Lydia Bingenheimer of Hanover. In 1957, she married Clarence Dressel and moved to the farm in Delano where they lovingly raised their daughter, Linda. Erma was a lifetime member of the Hanover United Methodist Church where she shared her gift of music by serving as the pianist/organist for over 60 years. In addition to music, she loved animals and cared for many pets. Erma enjoyed baking, cake decorating, gardening and caring for her home and family.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence. Erma is survived by her daughter, Linda Berg (Ed Hockensmith III) of Champlin; nieces Diane (Jeff) Loven of Dassel; Barb (Ron) Piepenburg of Litchfield; nephew Doug (Dana) Varner of Greenfield; sister Arlene Poirier of Litchfield; and many other nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
A special thanks to the staff at Gracewood of Champlin (formerly Suite Living) for the wonderful care and comfortable home they provided to her during these last 5 years.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 12th at 2:00 PM at the Peterson Chapel in St. Michael, with a visitation starting at 12:30 PM.
The Peterson Chapel, St. Michael/Albertville served the family.
Linda-
It has been so long since we’ve had contact. My sincere sympathy on the loss of your mom. She was always so nice to me and always had a smile. I’m sure you miss her and your dad very much. Remember one thing – when you miss them the most – look in your heart, they will always be with you.
I’m very sure from the little I got to know them, that away from you is the last place they would want to be!
If ever you would like to get together, or just call and chat, I’m here. Hoping all is well with you and yours. Les
